BULLETINS:
 
VR 'Open Division ONLY' Scrimmage-
Saturday, Feb 13th @ Vista Ridge Wrestling Room
Scrimmage fee- $5/wrestler (checks payable to: Vista Ridge Youth Wrestling)
Session I-   9:00 - 10:30am  <Ages 8-11yrs old>
Session II-  10:30 - 12:00pm  <Ages 12-15yrs old>
 
*If you have a wrestler that is at an odd weight class in regards to their current division that may limit their sparring partners during either session (big or small), please contact me as soon as possible for suggestions. 
 
Both sessions will consist of:
A. Extensive warm up mixed w/ minor conditioning
B. LOTS of LIVE wrestling (full matches, micro matches, the guantlet)
C. Scrambling drills & misc strength/agility drills
D. End of session GAME for the kids

GENERAL WINTER PRACTICE SCHEDULE (2009-'10):
Monday
6:15-7:15pm Tiny Rangers (Tots - Div 1) *4 - 7yr olds
7:00-8:30pm Lil Rangers (ALL Div 2 - Div 5) *8 - 15yr olds
 
Tuesday
6:30-8:00pm (Advanced ONLY) *10-15 yr olds
 
Thursday
6:15-7:15pm Tiny Rangers (Tots - Div 1) *4 - 7yr olds
7:00-8:30pm Lil' Rangers (ALL Div 2 - Div 5) *8 - 15yr olds
 
*Advanced wrestlers must have 3 yrs or more of experience!  As season continues our coaching staff will use their discretion to decide what other VR Wrestlers are ready to move on to the advanced sessions. 
 
**Practice times & dates are always subject to change (Due to holidays, TAKS tests, weather, & school closings).  Please check for Bulletins weekly!

Practice Location:
Vista Ridge High School
200 S. Vista Ridge Blvd.
Cedar Park, TX 78613
*Wrestling room is located on same side of building as the tennis courts
 
Practice requirements:
1) Gray t-shirt / dark gym shorts (no baggy clothing, no buttons, no zippers, etc...).
2) Wrestling shoes (once you have committed to wrestle). *Must CARRY wrestling shoes into practice at all times.
3) Head gear (once you have committed to wrestle)
4) Ice cold water (preferably in a jug)
5) NO jewelry, wrist bands, rubber bracelets, etc
6) Jump rope (for each wrestler)
7) Old bath/beach towel (for misc drills)
 
TOURNAMENT REQUIREMENTS:
1) Wrestling Headgear
2) Singlet (issued by club)
3) Hair length (above eyebrows, no longer than earlobes on side, above collar in back (polo shirt)
4) Mouthguard (if you have braces)
5) Warm up gear (i.e. Sweatshirt and/or tshirt, sweatpants/workout pants
6) Wrestling shoes
7) Water bottle
 
After every practice and/or tournament:
1) Wash hands before entering & leaving facility
2) Shower immediately after (no exceptions), using an anti-bacterial soap
3) Practice clothes must be washed after every practice.
4) Eat a balanced meal (a carb, a protein, and a vegetable/fruit).
5) Make sure your child re-hydrates w/ plenty of H2O after each event (everyday).
*Just some maintenance tips to help our wrestlers remain healthy all season long.
**NO WEIGHT CUTTING ALLOWED!!!!!!
